The contribution can be claimed once every 3 calendar years (i.e., if it was drawn in 2021 or 2022, it cannot be drawn in 2023). The application for the contribution can be submitted no later than 15 December 2023 together with proof of payment for the medicinal product prescribed by a physician on prescription or for over-the-counter medicinal products purchased at a pharmacy, together with a recommendation for tobacco dependence treatment certified by a stamp and signature of a physician and/or a professional consultant from the list provided on the VZP website. In 2023 we newly have contributions for dental hygiene and physiotherapy activities. We have combined the provision of these with the condition of preventive check-ups to further support everyone's health.

If you are over 18, you must have had a preventive check-up with a child and adolescent general practitioner or a preventive check-up with a general practitioner in the 24 months prior to the date of application. This condition does not apply to children from 1 to 18 years of age.

The condition for receiving this contribution is to have undergone a nationwide cancer screening, i.e., colorectal screening, cervical screening, mammography screening or lung screening. The list of national cancer screenings is available on the VZP website. Both of these benefits can only be applied for via the Moje VZP application until 15 December 2023. You must attach a receipt for the service or activity with a date of payment from 1 January 2023 to 15 December 2023. In this case, the requirement of 3 months of the age of the receipt does not apply.

Before you can actually claim a contribution, you must have the necessary examinations recorded on the Healthcare Reimbursement Overview according to the conditions set out. This can be checked directly in the Moje VZP application, which will only allow you to submit an electronic contribution claim once the examination has been reported, accompanied by proof of payment for the examination, dental hygiene or rehabilitation activity. Please note that both doctors and hospitals report the healthcare provided up to three months in arrears.
